What is lifestyle photography?
For me lifestyle photography is beyond being stiff in front of the camera. I always try to get the “shot for grandparents” of everyone looking straight into camera. Once we got it I just want you to enjoy time being together. My goal is to capture candid moments of you and your family to show your love and happiness. The best way to do it is by interaction between all members of the family. That is why I will always ask you to think of how your children like to spend their time and what games they like to play with parents being engaged. I do believe that those are the images that will bring joy once your children grow up and when we parents wont be around any longer.
Tell your unique story
Each family is unique and for this reason each photo session will be different. Some families are playful and crazy, others are a bit less emotional and that’s fine. The goal is to create emotive photography and tell your unique story. The flow of the session usually depends on the children and their age. It is important that we let kids play and run and just let them be kids.
What about posing ?
There will be very few times when I will be asking you to look at the camera. Instead I usually encourage you not to look at it but to connect with each other. It doesn’t mean you won’t be guided during the session. I will give you few prompts to make it fun for all of you and catch the candid moments. Most people are being surprised how much they love pictures and I do believe it is because they show real emotions instead of being a traditional portrait.
Here are a few highlights from a recent lifestyle session at beach in Dubai. This family was absolutely gorgeous and the light couldn’t have been better.
If you like what you see, please get in touch! I would love to hear from you.
