I know that choosing an outfit for your photo session might be a daunting task. I prepared for you 5 tips that will make finding your perfect outfit much easier.
Be Comfy
That’s my tip number one and the most important: wear something comfortable. Instead of rushing to the shop in search of a new outfit, I always suggest to go through your wardrobe and find something that is already tried and true to you. During my photo session we will be moving a lot so I want to make sure you don’t have to stress that something is too loose or to tight.
Choose your colour palette
When choosing your wardrobe please consider the location and environment we are going to shoot. I usually advise soft neutral colors: white, creamy, beige, light grey, earth colors that will correspond well with natural style photography. The soft and neutral colors will always look classy and they bring the focus to you! Choose 1-3 colors with similar tones that will go nicely together. Instead of matching your outfit and looking exactly the same, please coordinate the colors.
Be careful with patterns and prints
Please try to avoid strong patterns and big logos. They often dominate the photograph and distract attention from You. They are a big no no unless the logo is tasteful and in theme with the shoot. It applies to patterns as well! Remember less is more and subtle smaller patterns work best. I usually suggest to limit yourself to one pattern only and keep it simple.
Shoes
Whenever I shoot at the beach or in the desert the first thing I will ask you is to remove your shoes. It can be challenging climbing those dunes in high heels so please leave them at home. Believe me barefoot looks great on photographs!
In case we meet in the park or old part of the city please remember shoes are an integral part of your look and they should match the style of your outfit.
Make up and hair
I love to catch those beautiful rays of light coming through your hair so I always suggest you keep your long hair left down to showcase. At the same time lets not forget it might get windy in UAE. In case you prefer not to get too messy please bring some hair clips to keep them tied in case weather gets out of control.
I also suggest not to experiment with make up the day of the photo shoot. Please do whatever you need to do to feel confident and beautiful.
Do not forget about your manicure. Even if you prefer to keep your nails natural make sure they are clean especially if you are going to have a maternity photoshoot. We will be taking some close ups and details – it would be a shame to destroy photos with unflattering hands.
I hope you found this helpful. Please remember I am always happy to assist you in choosing your best look so feel free to share it with me via WhatsApp and we can discuss it further!
Below you will find few highlights from the recent family photoshoot in the desert. We met on a Friday afternoon to create some memories for little E. and celebrate her upcoming 1st birthday. We discussed outfits for the family and we opted for bright and airy colors. If choosing a wardrobe and coordinating colors might be overwhelming you can opt for a white look. It is a great choice for all types of skin, it is classy and it will beautifully make your pictures brighter.
